Disposition: Ganyu is a polite and reserved young woman. Her tone is often soft and kind when she speaks to others. But the more pressure she puts on herself, the more anxious she gets. At times like that it's easy for her to blush and fumble on her words. Despite being over 3,000 years old, she sometimes gets so focused on trying not to make any mistakes that it completely throws her off and she ends up losing track of time and might end up doing something completely different wrong.

Yet her work is her life. Her work is done with great focus from years of experience. She's learned all kind of techniques over the years and knows her way around troubling scenarios that leave others stumped. She's known for having mentoring a number of individuals who consider her an invaluable asset. An attempt to cover her workload alone was done by three different women working together and they were still overwhelmed and begging to be set free. But Ganyu loves her work with all her heart-- she throws herself into it out of love for her land and it's people. In fact, if asked what her hobbies are... her work is her hobby. It is something she enjoys and finds extremely rewarding.

She is responsible, diligent, hardworking, sweet and yet still sometimes insecure. Ganyu never stops trying, but she does sometimes lose her way. She's still trying to find her place in a world where she feels split between two sides and doesn't fit perfectly into either. But after giving it some thought she decided that her heart right now is in her life among humans. Although she had worries that they were trying to replace her, she made the decision that no matter what, she wanted to fight for her job and her place with the Liyue Qixing.

As part of her human side, Ganyu is someone who cares deeply about people and can never leave a problem alone once she's seen it. She doesn't always jump eagerly at the thought of overtime, but tired or not, she pushes through with a smile on her face. And she never leaves things unfinished. But on the other hand, she faces temptations just like anyone else. Despite coming from a race that only eats vegetation, she often laments the delicious scents of the local restaurant's food making her want to indulge. And even when she manages to resist meats, she still frets over normal girl things like her waistline.

As a person and as a Qilin Adeptus, her nature is to seek solutions that do not result in violence. However, due to the nature of her contract as a protector of Liyue, she has come to terms with the fact that she will fight when she needs to. Despite her reluctance to fight without good reason, when she makes that choice, she's a strong individual who will not back down from danger-- especially when the safety of others is in question.

She looks up to and admired Rex Lapis as a God who has done so much for Liyue. Her faith is something that she does not budge on. There is nothing that Rex Lapis could ask of her that she would not do, and she is very proud of the work that she does for him and strives to fulfill her contract in a way that he would be proud of.

Suitability: Ganyu has spent 3,000 years contractually looking over Liyue and it's people and it has been a job that brings her great joy. Yet in the back of her mind there is still a disconnect between herself and both humans and adepti that causes her to question where exactly it is she belongs.

She has placed her contract with Rex Lapis and others before herself in nearly all things for so long that her own insecurities have not fully been faced in a lot of ways. Her story quest in canon begins with her leaving Liyue and returning to her Adepti roots, due to a simple misunderstanding. What was simply two girls filling in for her for a short while became her getting the impression that she had been replaced and was no longer needed. When in fact several girls were dying over the workload that she managed to do by herself. But she convinced herself that she didn't belong among humans and went back to her home to train.

Only through realizing that she herself did not want to lose her place did she decide she had to go back and fight for her place. She continues to feel like she doesn't exactly fit in-- but she loves the people of Liyue, and works hard because she wants good things for them. But as a result she still only thinks very little about herself. But it was still an important step in realizing what it is she wants.

While she does so much for so many people on a daily basis, the number of people that she is truly able to connect with and know on a personal level is surprisingly low-- enough to fit on one hand. She knows of people... but she doesn't really know people... and in turn, they don't get to really know her either. So it will be new and challenging, but also a situation with some incredibly rewarding potential. The chance to be close to people without worrying about her two sides and whether or not she fits in because of the wide variety of types here, really is an exciting and invaluable experience for her; one that will help her grow and learn as a person.

Of course her thoughts will always be with Liyue and it's people. However, this experience will also force her to give herself some thought. And without the massive workload she places on herself day in and day out, she'll certainly have her times where she's lost-- but it will also give her that push to do things that aren't for Liyue or it's people, but for herself.

That said, while her contract with Rex Lapis and Liyue are first and foremost in her mind, it is difficult for her to turn a blind eye to people in trouble or a bad situation. So knowing that things are not quite right will give her enough reason to start connecting with the setting and the people.

Condition upon arrival: At the time of arrival Ganyu is in good health, with no ailments or injuries that require tending to.

Abilities: Upon signing her contract to safeguard Liyue and it's people, Ganyu was gifted with a Vision-- a small, ornate orb that imbues it's owner with great elemental powers. The element of her Vision is Cryo (Ice). It is thanks to her Vision that she is able to concentrate the power of ice into her arrows.

Archery is the foundation of her combat skills. She has a sharp eye that allows her to shoot targets with great precision even from afar. Naturally this makes combat from up close difficult for her. She can fire off shots quickly, however it leaves her open to attacks which makes it a reckless choice. She can also shoot arrows with the power of ice in them which explode in an icy blast-- however doing so requires concentration time and must be built up.

Her elemental skill allows her to create an icy lotus blossom that will explode and deal ice damage when it it destroyed or after a short amount of time. While her elemental burst brings forth ice and snow within a sizable circular radius within which shards of ice will continuously rain down upon any enemies in the vicinity for a limited period of time.

Outside of her combat skills, her passive ability allows you to forge bows using less resources. She is also the dedicated secretary to the Liyue Qixing-- as such she has great observational and information gathering skills.

Her Adepti blood also makes her naturally longer living than humans. The Adeptus are a group of magical beings contracted to Liyue that take many forms, which for her is that of a Qilin. Physically there are other benefits, although being a half-blood, they are not as great for her as they are for a full fledged Adeptus. This includes boosts to strength, speed and being able to take more damage than the average human. This allowed her to help Rex Lapis during the Archon War; battles between entities with God-like power. She's survived almost being eaten, and choked the giant monster to death in the process. For all her delicate features, she's incredibly sturdy.
